SITUATION Located up a quiet track a short distance from the small town of Colyton, the woodland backs on to fields and woodland on one side.
Colyton has a rich historical heritage with many interesting buildings dating back as early as the 14th century and which offers a surprising range of day to day amenities including shops, a primary school, the renowned Colyton Grammar School, terminus for the Colyton/Seaton tramway, Post Office, health centre, pubs, restaurants and the beautiful parish church of St Andrews.
The coast at Lyme Regis with its famous Cobb and bay with other resorts at Sidmouth, Seaton, Beer and Branscombe, are all within a short distance. There is a main line station on the London Waterloo line at Honiton and Axminster. Colyton lies in the heart of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
DESCRIPTION Extending to 0.26 acres (0.1 ha) the deciduous woodland has a mix of species with mature beech to hazel and holly.
There is an initial parking area, in front of the double timber gates and further parking inside of the gates.
ACCESS The woodland is accessed from the trackway which is maintained by Devon County Highways.
DIRECTIONS From the centre of Colyton, head into Queen street and opposite the Soanes Cycle shop turn left into Sidmouth Road, going up the hill out of the town. After about 1 mile, turn right into Jobbles Lane. Continue up the track and the woodland is on the right before the bend.
SERVICES There is a water pipe at the far end of the woodland, connected to the adjoining landowners system by agreement. Purchasers to check if this agreement can be extended.
