The twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, linked by the famous Victorian cliff railway and with their steep river valleys and rugged coastline are about 7 miles. Further a field, the popular coastal resorts of Croyde, Ilfracombe, Saunton and Woolacombe are all within about half an hour by car. A regular bus service runs from the village to Barnstaple and Lynton. Barnstaple, the regional centre for North Devon, is about 13 miles, from there, access is gained to the North Devon Link Road (A361), which provides a fast route to M5 Motorway at Tiverton (Junction 27). There is also the Tiverton Parkway Mainline Railway Station about 1 hour, giving access to Paddington in about 2 hours.
