Pitt House is a Grade II Listed property situated between the town of Chudleigh (2 miles) and the village of Chudleigh Knighton (0.5 miles). Both communities have a good range of day-to-day facilities. Beyond Chudleigh Knighton lies the town of Bovey Tracey (2 miles) which offers a broader range of amenities. As an early example of the Victorian Jacobean revival style, Pitt House is listed as being of immense architectural and historic interest. Built in 1841, by architects Sir George Gilbert Scott and William Bonythan Moffat, Pitt House is a grand example of the 'Jacobean' style with curly Dutch gables and castellated bay and oriel windows. The construction is mostly of squared and dressed grey limestone with cream limestone dressings to windows, doors etc. The house is particularly noted for its architect, the renowned Sir George Gilbert Scott who is responsible for a number of iconic structures including London's St. Pancras railway station, the Albert Memorial and restoration works to Westminster Abbey. A model of Pitt House can be found at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and is one of the few surviving examples of Sir Gilbert Scott's private residential designs.

In 1985 Pitt House was sympathetically converted into six apartments and it is surrounded by 1.5 acres of communal gardens and woodland.

Steps lead up to a grand covered entrance with arched door leading into the communal entrance hall. This is an impressive space with oak panelled walls and polished hard timber floor with a fine staircase. To the left of the stairs is the private entrance to the apartment. The principal rooms have been retained largely without alteration and are elegantly proportioned with high ceilings and original rich plasterwork. At the end of the hall is a splendid living /dining room with large bay window and views across the grounds. There is an original fireplace with open fire, Victorian pillars, original wood panelled doors and window surrounds as well as chandeliers. The kitchen /breakfast room is fitted with a range of matching eye and base level units with Neff electric oven and induction hob together with integral dishwasher. Space and plumbing for washing machine and tumble dryer. French windows lead onto a south facing private patio (30' x 12') this in turn leads to a gravelled parking area creating a private entrance to the property. There are two double bedrooms with generous built-in wardrobe space. There is a well-appointed family bathroom with airing cupboard, power shower over the bath plus generous boarded out and lit loft space above with integral loft ladder. The house is approached via a sweeping drive leading up past the allocated parking and garage block on the right. The garage belonging to No.2 Pitt House is the second one on the left.
