We’re on the lookout for a full-time Estate Agent/Valuer to join our busy sales team in Bridport.

The ideal candidate will be driven, currently working in the industry as a valuer and have a proven track record.

The role will involve carrying out market appraisals, working with clients to sell their home, as well as carrying out viewings and assisting the front-line sales team.

We are seeking an experienced RICS Registered Valuer/Rural Surveyor to join our Somerset team, operating for our Wellington office.

The role would suit an experienced Rural Surveyor (ideally 5+ years PQE) who is self-motivated to develop themselves and the business across the region, working together with our existing team of surveyors and property offices.

Due to business growth an exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Planning Consultant to work in our expanding Planning, Development and Design team.

The ideal candidate will be MRTPI or MRICS or similar qualified with 3 or more years post qualification experience. Experience of working in rural planning sector would be a distinct advantage.

Location to be Devon or Cornwall based with some flexibility to work between locations and from home.

Commercial

Stags is a South West Property firm with an established Commercial and Block Management department based in its Fore Street premises in Totnes.

Due to retirement we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Surveyor to run and head up this department with a brief to oversee the existing portfolio plus develop and expand the commercial business taking advantage of the Stags network of 22 offices and property related client base throughout the region.

The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years post qualified experience, have strong management and organisational skills and will be used to working as part of a small team. The role primarily comprises the following:

Commercial properties:

  • Manage all kinds of property on behalf of a landlord to meet the landlord's contractual obligations. This includes ensuring compliance with the conditions of the tenancy, collecting rents and service charges and handling building maintenance and repair
  • Responsible for the property management accounts team
  • Review and enforcement of tenant lease covenant compliance
  • Setting, managing and reporting on annual maintenance and service charge budgets
  • Advice on the purchase and sale of individual investments
  • Assess properties for business rates, capital taxation, acquisitions and disposals
  • Able to write clear, concise reports with well-argued conclusions & recommendations
  • Deal with the sale and letting of commercial premises

Block Management:

  • Acting for Directors or Freehold Management Companies managing the communal areas of clients’ properties both fully residential and part residential and part commercial
  • Managing the budget and maintaining records of any expenses and income
  • Attending Directors Meetings and AGM’s
  • Preparing annual service charge budgets and Certificates of Expenditure
  • Dealing with leaseholders’ enquiries
  • Apply appropriate law for landlord and tenant negotiations and enforce health and safety regulations
  • Managing contractors and visiting sites to compile schedules of works
  • Dealing with insurance renewals/claims and any major client works
