Our busy Taunton office requires a full-time Sales Negotiator to join the team.

Assisting with sales as a front-line team member, the role will require excellent communication, literacy and IT skills. The successful applicant will also be well-organised and able to cope under pressure as part of a dynamic team.

Professional Services

Stags is currently seeking a qualified rural surveyor to join our Professional Services team. The right candidate will ideally have a minimum of 3 years post RICS qualification experience and Fellowship to CAAV. 

The successful applicant will be confident in their abilities and someone who is interested in driving and expanding current business. The role has career potential. 

The position offers a varied and interesting workload including rural planning work, Basic Payment Scheme applications and environmental scheme applications, Landlord/Tenant, Compulsory Purchase and compensation work as well as formal valuations. The existing team works closely with Stags offices, property professionals, and property and land owning clients.

Stags is a well-established and well-regarded South West property firm with 22 offices and over 200 staff throughout the region, offering excellent workflow and support to employees. To facilitate both growth and succession within the existing business we are looking to appoint an additional surveyor to work across the Exeter and South Devon regions.

The Role:

Workload will be primarily focused on servicing a strong and varied pipeline of rural professional work, including: Red Book valuations (loan security, tax and contentious); Landlord and Tenant work; wayleaves and easements; Basic Farm Payment and Countryside Stewardship; rural planning (alongside our specialist planning team). There is also the possibility of involvement with retained estate management clients.

The existing team is primarily based from Michelmore Hughes Stags’ Totnes Office, however for the right individual there may also be capacity to work from Stags’ Exeter Office.

The Candidate:

The role will be an excellent fit for an ambitious qualified surveyor looking for a position with an established and well-regarded South West firm. However due to the size of the existing team and wider firm, the role could potentially be varied to suit a motivated graduate surveyor or more senior surveyor, depending on circumstances.


  • MRICS and/or FAAV preferred
  • Registered Valuer preferred
  • Relevant experience with property markets and comprehensive technical knowledge
  • Experienced report writing
