Property Sales

We’re on the lookout for a full-time Property Sales Valuer to join our busy sales team in Totnes.

Stags is a 21st century estate agent with traditional values and extensive marketing coverage, with 21 offices across the West Country together with a presence in London. Stags Totnes office deals with a range of properties, offering expert local knowledge to those buying or selling in the surrounding towns and villages.

This is a busy and varied role that requires the successful applicant to be well-organised with the ability to cope under pressure and as part of a dynamic team.

The ideal candidate will be driven, currently working in the industry as a valuer and have a proven track record.

The role will involve carrying out market appraisals, working with clients to sell their home, as well as carrying out viewings and assisting the front-line sales team.

You will need to be IT-literate, personable and able to adapt to the role quickly. This will involve some Saturday work on a rota basis.

Residential Lettings

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious candidate to lead a thriving department, covering the South Hams area, which encompasses three offices.

Based in the Totnes office, this role provides the right candidate with the opportunity to work with a varied portfolio with scope to grow and develop the department further.

The role will involve all aspects of Residential Lettings to include:

  • Overseeing the daily running of the department and the established team.
  • Dealing with technical landlord & tenant enquiries.
  • New business generation.

Stags are looking to recruit a rural practice surveyor with 1-5 years’ post qualified experience to join our Professional Services team in Tiverton.

The role will involve acting for a mix of clients across Exeter, Mid and North Devon on a broad spectrum of matters which includes:

  • Basic Payment Scheme, Countryside Stewardship and grant applications
  • Red Book valuations (loan security, tax and contentious)
  • Rural Planning (alongside our specialist Planning team)
  • Miscellaneous Landlord and Tenant work

An opportunity has arisen for a rural practice graduate/apprentice surveyor to join Stags in September 2022.

The position will be within our Professional Services department and will include hands on client facing work from the start. There will be a broad spectrum of work which could include:

  • Formal “Red Book” Valuations
  • Estate Management
  • Property Sales and Lettings
  • Planning
  • Landlord and Tenant
  • Compulsary Purchase
  • Grants and Subsidies

We strongly believe that it is important for our trainees to gain a broad range of hands-on experience and therefore also arrange for them to spend time in other departments to provide a breadth of experience which will not only be essential in working towards their professional exams but will also help them to work out what type of work they enjoy.

Training and Support

We appreciate the importance of good training and support for our trainees and so have a structured APC training programme which includes training days and regular meetings with a designated Supervisor, Counsellor and in-house APC Assessor.

We will pay for RICS and CAAV membership and the cost of your first APC assessment and CAAV exam. You will also be offered up to five days study leave.

Business Support Team

Based in our Tiverton Office, this is a key strategic position within a leading firm of West Country estate agents and chartered surveyors.

Liaising directly with equity partners, this challenging senior role is an exciting opportunity to steer and enhance the Stags brand across a multi-channel strategy.

An understanding of estate agency practice is preferred together with some knowledge of both traditional and digital marketing mediums. You will be responsible for managing a small marketing team and expected to be both strategic and very much ‘hands on’. Advice and marketing services will be provided to 21 geographically diverse branches and in time, various specialist departments, an agricultural division, a new business centre and a professional services department.

You will plan and cover campaigns end-to-end and focus on managing the inbound marketing together with lead generation. It is expected that you will liaise closely with an existing Marketing Consultant who has an established relationship with Stags. You will become involved with our successful website and social media channels, developing lead generation initiatives and liaising with our web host to ensure that it provides the very best interactive customer experience.

What will I do?:

  • Report directly to the managing partnership
  • Manage, maintain and report on a pre-defined budget
  • Collaborate with a Marketing Consultant who has an existing relationship with Stags
  • Manage and take responsibility for the marketing function, taking a strategic and ‘hands on’ role
  • Produce marketing literature and design
  • Manage lead generation marketing to both the existing database and reaching out to new business
