The planning team
Stags planning and development consultants provide expert planning advice across the South West and beyond and can help maximise the value of land and property through new development. The team is made up of chartered surveyors and chartered town planners and is experienced with working in local authorities within the Town and Country Planning discipline.
They can assist with an array of services including, but not limited to:
Site appraisals / Assessments of development options
Listed building and conservation area applications
Permitted development right submissions (like class Q)
Planning strategy
Local plan representation
Negotiation of planning agreements
Enforcement and planning advice and appeals

The design team
This team specialises in providing innovative and high-quality architectural services that elevate the value of a site or property. Meet the team - Planning
Alister Smith BSc (Hons) PGDip MRICS Professional Partner | Head of Planning and Design/Chartered Surveyor Alister leads the Stags Planning department. He is a chartered member of the Planning and Development faculty of RICS and is an affiliate member of the RTPI. Having advised on all types of planning work, Alister has an excellent understanding of all aspects of the planning system.
Richard Bailey Associate | Planning Consultant Richard has over 20 years of planning experience covering a broad range of planning matters and projects (including residential, commercial/retail, leisure, sports, community, health and mixed-use developments), progressed on behalf of a mix of public and private sector clients. He has experience of providing strategic planning advice and progressing planning appraisals, planning applications, site promotions and coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments.
Anna Grantham Planning Assistant Anna is currently part-time studying for an MSc in Town Planning and is developing her knowledge in the planning sphere having a career change from the education sector.
Meet the team - Design
Jessica Attrill BA (Hons) Assoc CIAT Architectural Technician It is Jess's third year working at Stags as an Architectural Designer, she has worked on various projects supporting the planning team in obtaining many planning applications. With demonstrated history of working in the Agricultural and residential industry, Jess brings a strong arts and design flare to the professional services. Her strongest attributes lie with barn conversions, residential alterations and pre-application new development schemes.
Jason Jones Architectural Designer Jason has 10 years of design experience covering a range of different project types, covering residential, commercial and education. His keen eye for detail and imaginative design solutions helps the team overcome the most difficult of design challenges to develop projects that maximise the value of a property or site.
Sally Allaway Professional Services Administrator Sally is the administrator for the planning and design team, she supports each team member with their enquiries and general administration.
