Land and property auctions remain strong for Stags Farm Agency in 2023

Land and property auctions remain strong for Stags Farm Agency in 2023

Stags Farm Agency have shown that auctions remain the key to selling popular land parcels with sales totalling £6,400,000 for 2023.

The Farm Agency team sold 60 land and agricultural property lots through the year with demand experienced from a diverse range of buyers.

South West Farm AgentStags Farm Agent, Robin Fern, comments; “The best performing lots demonstrate sought-after characteristics in popular locations throughout the West Country, but each was marketed at just the right price to encourage realistic interest”. Robin goes on to say, “our auction listings have included both small and larger blocks of agricultural land, woodlands, amenity and equestrian holdings, dilapidated farm buildings with land and one-of-a-kind coastal and countryside hideaways”.

The continued success of Stags auctions has brought many land and property owners to suggest the method of sale themselves, each seeing the benefits in the results, speed of process and sale security.

Amongst a long list of highlights for 2023 was the sale of a 3.2 acre field near Woodbury, which sold for £121,000, 61% above guide, along with a riverside pasture near Cullompton, which sold in two lots for a combined sale price of over £16,000 per acre, averaging at 86% above guide.

Stags auction results for larger blocks of agricultural land include 40 acres of productive arable land at Churchill Lane, Loxbeare which sold for £351,000 and about 53 acres of pasture near North Tawton which sold in two lots for a total of £425,000.

Buyers for agricultural property continue to register with Stags and, with an enduring shortage of land on the market, 2024 values look set to align with those of previous years.
