HISTORY
Built by the 4th Earl of Carnarvon in 1874, the Carnarvon Arms was a hotel located beside the station for the Devon and Somerset railway. Eventually having 25 letting bedrooms, the property was run by two local families, the Nelders and then the Howells. The hotel had a huge reputation for those interested in hunting, shooting and fishing. The railway closed in 1966 and the hotel was eventually converted to 15 private apartments in 2004. The building retains much of the atmosphere and ambiance generated over the previous 130 years, one which would be impossible to create in a purpose built new development.

From the M5 motorway, exit at junction 27 and take the A361 signposted to Tiverton. At the first roundabout turn right and follow the A396 north signposted Dulverton. Continue for approximately 12 miles and then take the B3222 at Exebridge. After two miles, on entering Brushford, the pillared entrance to The Carnarvon Arms apartments will be found on the right hand side just before the bus stop.
