A huge crowd of potential purchasers were present at the dispersal at Trewithan Farm, Laneast as the Stags On Site Sales team headed into Cornwall. The sale on behalf of Nigel and Teresa Wickett, who having recently sold the farm, are now moving to Lanivet.
There was a wonderful line up of very up together farm machinery that deserved to see the strong prices that were eventually realised. Topping the day was £59,000 for the 2017 Claas 640 Cebis Tractor c/w Claas Loader. The other tractor in the sale being the McCormick MC115 realised £13,750.
Buyers attended the sale from far and wide with the 2011 McHale F550 Round Baler going under the hammer at £13,500 to now travel across the water to Southern Ireland. North of England buyers also got in on the action snapping up the 2012 McHale HS2000 Round Bale Wrapper at £7000 and the McConnel Power Arm Hedgetrimmer at £6200.
Other notable prices included £9000 for the 2017 Lucas Castor Trailed +30R Straw Chopper; £7600 for the 2011 Krone Swadro 800/26 Twin Rotor Rake; £7200 for the 2013/14 Claas 3100C Mower Conditioner; £5500 for the Lemken Europal 7 5 Furrow Reversible Plough; £5200 for the 2010 Conor 11 Tonne Grain Trailer and £4200 for the Case 1840 Skid Steer.
There was a good range of both cattle and sheep handling equipment with strong prices including £6000 for the Prattley Standard 10 Sheep Handling System and £2000 for the Prattley Weigh Crate complete with EID Reader, both of these lots headed back to Somerset. The IAE Chieftain Full Access Cattle Crush rose to £1800.
A run of outside entries from neighbouring farms included a Lemken Europal 5 Furrow Reversible Plough that realised £3800; West 1600 Dual FYM Spreader at £3000 and a McConnel 3 Leg Shakerator that went away at £1600.
