Huge crowd attend The West Country Farming and Machinery Show

Stags were proud auction sponsors of the West Country Farming and Machinery Show 2024, which saw an impressive attendance throughout the day. Despite the wet weather, many members of the public flocked to Westpoint Arena, Exeter to support the second year of this new event where several exhibitors, farming and machinery related, were showcasing what they had to offer for this specific market.

Alongside the show, Stags held a machinery auction which commenced at 12:30pm and consisted of nearly 100 lots including 12+ tractors, 4 + Land Rovers, a digger, 2 ATVs & UTVs, 5+ trailers, 30 + lots of machinery and other attachments plus nearly 37 lots of livestock and associated equipment. Shortly before the sale began, many of the show attendees flocked to the sale area in readiness. The sale was also live audio and video streamed, allowing those who were unable to attend the show itself, to take part and bid online using our live audio and video streaming facilities.

To this specific auction there was a total of 5,672 online catalogue visits and 365 registered bidders, with 33 successful purchasers in total. Purchasers derived from France, Yorkshire, Gloucestershire, Cornwall, Devon, Somerset & Dorset.

The sale was very successful with top prices going to a 2015 JCB 536-60 Agri Super Telehandler which achieved £25,500, a 2003 John Deere 6320 4WD Tractor at £23,250, a 2012 John Deere 6330 4WD Tractor at £22,750, a 2019 Ford Transit 350 Dropside Van at £19,875 and a 2012 Landini 120 Dual Power 4WD Tractor at £19,250.

“Despite the typical British weather, we were very pleased with both the entries received and the buyers support for what was our debut sale at the west country farming and machinery show. The inclusion of online bidding saw buyers from as far as Yorkshire and we were pleased to successfully sell some of the highest value lots consigned.  Our thanks to all those who attended and supported the sale this year,”Harvey Pile, Stags Auctioneer

The Agricultural Sales team at Stags would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who contributed to making the auction a great success. A thank you also to the organisers and those involved in the West Country Farming and Machinery Show for allowing us to be a part of the event.
