The three biggest issues facing landlords today

The three biggest issues facing landlords today Following Exeter City Council’s Renting Minefield event, Claire Pile of Stags Lettings outlines the three biggest issues facing landlords today.

Stags was delighted to be part of The Renting Minefield VI landlord event organised by Exeter City Council and held at The Flybe Academy.

The sold out evening saw professionals from across the industry exhibit and present to landlords it was clear that the continued changes to legislation and compliance are of keen interest. During the evening the three most current issues faced by those within the Private Rented Sector – landlords, agents and tenants alike – were discussed:

1. Changes to Section 21 notices and the importance of getting it right

2. Licensing and regulation surrounding Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMO)

3. The tenant fee ban and the implications to you as a landlord

Claire Pile MARLA said, “It was again great to see an event attended by so many landlords who are eager to ensure they are getting it right and seeking advice from those in the know. Being a landlord comes with many responsibilities and if procedures are not followed correctly or legislation is not adhered to it could lead to significant penalties.”
