The South West May Online Timed Auction Statistics

TOP PRICE OF £39,250!

AUCTIONEERS COMMENT

"Another mammoth entry for the May South West Online Timed Auction saw 2,644 lots consigned from 356 vendors across the entirety of the South West and beyond. Topping the sale this time around were two telehandlers, both consigned from private owners and achieving impressive prices beyond vendor expectations.

A wide range of vintage and classic tractors on offer saw mixed results, with one of the cleanest examples, from a North Devon vendor, being the 1987 John Deere 3650 4WD tractor, which looked well sold at £23,250. Another classic from the 90s saw a Ford 8830 receive plenty of attention, eventually selling under the virtual hammer for £21,250 despite the owner’s honesty regarding a transmission issue.

A wide variety of grassland equipment was on offer, as expected for the time of year, with highlights including a very low bale count 2018 McHale F5500 round baler racing away to £21,750, while its older cousin, the 2015 McHale F5400 round baler, achieved almost double the vendor’s expectations when selling for £13,750.

A huge entry of dispersal items came forward from a variety of vendors, for a range of reasons, with all meeting strong demand and proving highly successful across the board. Top prices included a 2010 Massey Ferguson 3625 2WD tractor, achieving £16,750, and a 1995 Case 4230 XL 4WD tractor, finding a new home for £13,750.

Many of the success stories came from items with genuine histories, offered for genuine reasons and entered with realistic reserves, which were ultimately exceeded. Vendors are encouraged to price items competitively to spark early interest, and this approach is often richly rewarded in the final hammer price.

Thank you to all vendors and purchasers from across the UK. "
