“A larger-than-expected entry was received for the June South West Online Timed Auction, with 2,135 lots consigned by 356 vendors. Overall trade remained buoyant, particularly for well-maintained machinery and livestock equipment.
There was another strong entry of tractors, with prices topping at £75,250 for a 2016 Fendt 724 Vario with 6,400 hours, which also achieved the highest price of the sale.
Other notable tractor sales included a 2010 Claas Arion 630 with Quicke loader and 6,871 hours, consigned by a vendor from St Austell, Cornwall, and purchased by a buyer from Bridport, Dorset, selling for £18,250.
Leading the vintage tractor section was a 1973 Massey Ferguson 188, which remained local after being purchased by a buyer in Taunton for £15,250.
Farm machinery topped at £33,750 for a Pottinger Europrofi 5010 Forager Wagon, which was purchased by a Buckinghamshire buyer. The next highest machinery price was £19,500 for a 2012 Claydon 3m Hybrid Seed Drill, which also sold to a purchaser in Buckinghamshire.
As always, the sale featured a wide variety of lots, with notable prices including £9,500 for a 2014 Isuzu D-Max pick-up with 33,859 miles, £9,250 for a 2016 Skyjack SJ51 Cherry Picker, £8,250 for an International Navistar Highway Truck and Clay Launcher, and £4,350 for a Thornhill Range Store Cooker in Duck Egg.
