Monday 6th May 2024 saw the close of the third South West Online Timed Auction of Tractors, Telehandlers, Excavators, RTV’s, UTV’s, Vehicles, Farm Machinery, Livestock Equipment, and other equipment for the Stags Agricultural Sales team.

1641 lots were catalogued by the team in the weeks before the start of the auction which commenced at 7pm on the 26th April. During the 10-day period of the sale being open, the auction attracted 385,605 visits to the sale catalogue, a new Stags record as well as 2041 registered bidders for this specific sale. Over £1,405,869 worth of bids (not all successful) were placed before the virtual hammer dropped on the Monday evening. The auction saw a total of 440 purchasers who were from a variety of national and international areas including France, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Wales, Cambridge, South-west London, Swindon, Northampton, Swansea, Southampton, Cardiff, Gloucester, Guildford, Buckinghamshire, Oxford, Guernsey, Nottingham, Newport, Coventry, Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset & everywhere in between!

The top call was seen for a 2022 Kubota M7-173 4WD Tractor with very low hours on the clock which despite a lot of interest and enquires was unsold at the fall of the hammer. However, it was promptly sold post sale with a member of the team helping the vendor achieve £61,250 with the tractor travelling to Okehampton to serve its new owner. Next up was the 2010 McHale Fusion 2 Baler which received 60 bids and sold for £24,750 having been purchased by the vendor at a Stags farm dispersal sale 6 years ago. Selling for a similar price was the 2015 Case Farmall 115U Pro MX 4WD Tractor which had reasonable hours of 6898 for the tractor’s age. Part of a genuine unreserved dispersal sale, the 2012 Massey Ferguson 5440 Dyna 4 4WD Tractor sold for £24,250 and will be making its way to Northern Ireland with other dispersal items achieving strong prices for seasonal items such as mowers, turners and rakes. Trailers saw a top price of £12,750 for a 2021 Fleming 12T Silage Trailer which sold at the fall of the hammer and is staying local in Devon meanwhile the Marston 12T Silage Trailer was sold after the sale for £6,650.

Auctioneer Harvey Pile commented ‘We’ve seen some really pleasing and strong prices achieved within this sale in particular for the dispersal and reduction items included in the sale. Items were consigned from Penzance to Warwickshire and items which are sensibly reserved and presented in a detailed way continue to sell well. Those with descriptions lacking detail or poor photography remain the hardest to sell and we implore sellers to make the effort if they choose to submit their own entries’.

Our next Online Timed Auction will take place from the 6th to the 16th June with entries closing on the 3rd June. Alongside this, we will be holding our Charity Auction of Pledges, please do feel free to enter any items in to this where you would be happy to donate the proceeds to charity. Items will be sold commission free on this charity sale only as well as no buyer’s premium charges. To view the current catalogue please follow this link Charity Auction.
