The autumn West Country property market continues to thrive – find out what your home is worth now

The autumn West Country property market continues to thrive – find out what your home is worth now According to figures for the last two months, the West Country property market has been much better than this time last year, reports Stags Partner Simon Cooper.

While the press has painted a somewhat gloomy picture of the market, down here in the West Country Stags’ 21 offices have been far from quiet, exceptionally so for this time of year.

Putting some facts to this statement, the number of properties sale agreed was up by 4% in the last two months compared to the equivalent period last year.

Indeed, the number of completed sales in September and October was also up by over 24%!

Another clear indication of increased activity is the number of visits to stags.co.uk, which increased by 14.4% from last October to this. Email leads from the portal websites Stags uses to promote properties was also up, showing once again that buyers are not seeing autumn as the wrong time of year to think about a move.

Turning now to the year to date for Stags, completed sales are up by 6%. The number of viewings across the firm this year to date is also up by a healthy 9% compared to the same 10 months in 2018.

Though historically the property market becomes busier in the spring, with the general election out of the way and a new year upon us – plus pent up demand for people looking to move into and within the West Country – I am sure that January will be a brisker market than last year, so why not capitalise on these positive signals?
