Channel 4’s show ‘Location, Location, Location’ is back with hosts Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer travelling to Devon to help find single mum Amy’s dream seaside home. Originally aired on Wednesday 26th October, the show shines a spotlight on one of our Exeter office’s instructions which Amy went on to buy.
Relocating to Devon, Amy was searching for a four-bedroom family home that was close to the sea and offered a good feeling of community for her two children, which were due to start school in just 5 months’ time.
Travershes, an early 19th century, detached, Grade II listed house with bell tower was a property that Amy had previously offered on before filming. Being unsuccessful with her initial offer, ‘Location, Location, Location’ went on to show her four more properties within the area before they eventually returned to the property to get a second opinion from Phil prior to Amy increasing her offer. At the time of the viewing Amy stated “This house does pull on my heartstrings” and defined it as being “very beautiful”.
Speaking with Jacob and Nina from our Exeter office, Phil agreed a sale for Amy which facilitated her to be in by the school year.
Set in a 0.57 acre plot, with excellent far-reaching views over the estuary and hills beyond, Travershes offered Amy the four-bedroom family home that she desired with the added bonus of two separate, successful holiday lets. Sympathetically modernised throughout, the property retained much of the original charm with high ceilings, picture rails and original sash windows throughout with the added benefits of bespoke kitchens and bathrooms and a beautiful garden space for Amy’s children to enjoy.
Whether you’re after seaside views, countryside escapes or city living, the South West can offer it all. If you have a property to sell, or would like help in finding your dream home, contact your local Stags office.
