Stags continues to expand its Development Land and New Homes departments through the recruitment of Ben Luxton and the transfer of Callum Jones.
Ben Luxton joins Stags as a development land specialist having previously qualified as a solicitor and practised for several years at the Exeter office of a Top 100 Law Firm. Ben specialised in strategic land, development and commercial property acting for a variety of landowners, developers, public sector bodies in relation to option, promotion and hybrid agreements, conditional contracts and overage arrangements.
Ben brings with him a wealth of technical experience which will ensure that he can identify and offer practical solutions to any potential legal issues associated with development land agreements.
Ben’s knowledge and experience will complement that of the existing Development Land team comprising Alister Smith (Head of Planning), Matthew Wilcox (Professional Partner) and Miles Webber (Professional Partner). The team works closely together to combine their differing areas of expertise which ensures a high-quality service is provided to their clients.

To support the growing demand for new homes sales at Stags, Callum Jones has been appointed as manager of the New Homes department. Previously based in our Truro office selling a variety of new homes on various developments across Cornwall, Callum brings his extensive expertise to our Exeter office where the New Homes department will be based. Callum will focus on expanding the New Homes department’s reach and capabilities utilising our network of offices across the South West. With a proven track record of successfully launching and selling new home sites of various sizes, Callum is well-positioned to lead the department’s growth. The New Homes department offers developers a comprehensive range of services, enabling them to sell developments across the South West and take advantage of the extensive Stags branch network.
