In a recent planning appeal, Stags has successfully overturned Mid Devon District Council’s refusal to grant permission for residential development of up to 20 dwellings, and have secured a partial award of costs against the Council.
Alister Smith of Stags managed the original application which was submitted in December 2018. The committee refused the application at their second meeting in November 2019, in spite of the application receiving officer recommendation for approval by Mid Devon Planning Officers. Stags successfully demonstrated that the proposal is sustainable development and worked to show the Appeal Inspector that the development was acceptable in terms of any change to the character and appearance of the area.
