Outstanding exam results for Kate Collins, Commercial Property Manager

Outstanding exam results for Kate Collins, Commercial Property Manager Kate Collins BSc (Hons), Property Manager in our Commercial and Block Management department based in Totnes has recently completed her degree in Real Estate Management with the University College of Estate Management, graduating with a 2:1. 

Kate joined Stags following the merger with Michelmore Hughes in 2015. Following a short period working as a sales and lettings negotiator, a role which kept her very busy, over time she was drawn back to the commercial property side of the business closely working alongside Mathew Higgs, who was able to pass on the benefit of many year’s experience and assistance.

Enrolling onto her first course, the Diploma in Surveying Practice in 2016. The 4 year course was undertaken online alongside her full time job, an impressive feat which required perseverance and dedication.  Kate successfully graduated with a distinction in 2018, but wanted to progress her career further and transferred onto the BSc (Hons) Real Estate Management course, which involved a wider variety of topics, such as investment, commercial valuation, building technology and law. 

Alongside her studies Kate has also enrolled on the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC), which she is due to sit in 2021, on completion she will be a Chartered Surveyor, the third generation of her family to do so. 

Andrew Luxton, Partner says “Kate deserves great credit in not only continuing to cope with working full time but also devoting her spare time to study, coursework and exams then graduating but still pursuing her dream of becoming a chartered surveyor which I’m sure she will achieve next year. I hope she will shortly be able to spend a little more time riding and enjoying her horses! “.

When not studying, sitting exams or working Kate occupies her spare time riding and competing her horse. Having previously run an equestrian centre for over 9 years, she tries to make time for her passion whenever possible.
