North Devon Link Road improvements: are you affected?

North Devon Link Road improvements: are you affected?

The Department for Transport has approved funding for improvements to the North Devon Link Road. The scheme, costing £93 million, will see three sections of the A361 widened between Barnstaple and South Molton and will provide overtaking lanes on up to 70% of the route. Junction improvements and safety upgrades will also be carried out from South Molton to Bideford.

A planning application will be submitted later this year, before a Full Business Case is submitted in 2020, allowing work to commence towards the end of 2020.

With funding confirmed, now is the time to find out whether you will be affected by the works and if so, to ensure that you are represented properly. A conversation with a member of Stags Professional Services team is the best place to start to discuss any compensation you might be entitled to.

Lydia Cox of Stags Professional Services states, “Even if you do not have land that may be involved in the project, you could still be eligible to claim compensation. If your residential home is to be adversely affected by increased physical impacts such as noise, light and vibrations, it is worth picking up the phone and discussing your options with a member of our team.”

If you are concerned that your property or land could be affected by these improvements, contact your local professional today.
