Charles Dudley MARLA and Becky Pogson of the Tiverton Lettings Team, recently attended the Mid Devon Landlord Networking Event at Upton Barn and Walled Garden.
The well supported event, hosted by Mid Devon District Council welcomed local landlords, investors, and property professionals for an evening focused on networking, knowledge sharing, and discussing the recent changes within the Private Rented Sector.
A strong line-up of keynote speakers provided valuable insight throughout the evening. Susannah Streeter of Wealth Club and former BBC Business Presenter delivered an engaging overview of the economic landscape and its impact on the property market. Tom Fellows from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) also gave important updates on forthcoming legislation including the new PRS Landlord Ombudsman.
The overriding theme of the event was guidance around new property legislation, particularly the implementation of the Renters’ Rights Act and evolving local rental standards. These sessions helped landlords better understand their responsibilities and how to navigate the changes which, after the 1st May, have now been implemented.
The event also featured exhibition stands from local businesses, service providers and representatives from Mid Devon District Council’s Private Sector Housing and Housing Options teams, offering practical support and advice tailored to the local area.
Charles Dudley MARLA, Residential Lettings Manager, commented:

“It was great to see such a strong turnout of local landlords, including many of our existing clients as well as new faces looking for guidance. With significant changes ahead, particularly with the Renters’ Rights Act, it’s more important than ever for landlords to feel supported and informed.”
The team were pleased to attend and support an event that highlights the importance of keeping landlords informed and prepared in a changing regulatory environment.
