A field full of clean and well-presented implements, machinery and tractors awaited sale goers as they arrived at Shute Farm, Crediton in their droves. It must be mentioned that the vendors, Messrs A H Ayre & Sons, displayed their equipment impeccably, inspiring buyer confidence and demonstrating the quality of the items for sale.

With more than  450 potential purchasers registering their interest for the sale of 350 lots, bidding was fierce throughout with the top price of the day reaching £39,500 for the 2011 John Deere 6830, complete with Front Linkage (1978Hrs).

Auctioneer Chris Clapham then proceeded to sell the 2009 New Holland T6020, complete with 750TL Loader (2270Hrs) for a strong price of £28,500 to a purchaser from outside of the United Kingdom.  Last to be sold in the three-tractor line-up was the 2012 John Deere 5090R (2263Hrs), which saw numerous bidders vying to take it home before the hammer finally fell at £26,500. The 1997 John Deere 1170 Combine Harvester complete  with 14’ Header & Trailer (2860 Engine Hrs) was also the subject of competitive bidding and was eventually purchased by a farmer from Derbyshire for £17,750.

Amongst the outside entries entered into the sale was a KRM Combination Drill, which saw Stafford Sampson dropping the hammer at £3,000.
