Making a difference: Stags’ 2024 fundraising journey for cancer charities

This year Stags is celebrating its 150th anniversary and so far, 2024 has proven to be a huge success in terms of our fundraising efforts. At the beginning of the year, Stags’ 22 offices set out to raise a total of £50,000 for four incredible charities across the South West. We are thrilled to announce that we have already surpassed this target, but we still have plenty of time left and we are determined to keep fundraising until this special anniversary year draws to a close.

Each of our chosen charities helps to support those affected by cancer in the South West of England, both directly and indirectly. Tanya’s Courage Trust are based in Cornwall and help young people dealing with cancer, FORCE provides free support and information to those who need it from their centre in Exeter, S.U.R.E. helps to provide access to treatment in Somerset, and Ducks and Drakes works hard to raise awareness of bowel cancer in young adults across Dorset. We are so proud to be supporting these four admirable charities and hope that the money we have raised, and will continue to raise, will go some way to helping those affected by cancer.

Of course, we could not have raised this impressive sum without our dedicated teams across each of our West Country offices. 2024 has seen a fantastic and varied line up of events and each has been met with eager enthusiasm from our teams. To name a few, we have seen a rounders tournament, numerous beach cleans, a bake off, coastal and moorland walks, a channel swim and even a skydive! With a few short months left, the teams are resolved to squeeze in several more endeavours including pub quizzes, pig racing and more!

2024 Stags fundraising, Okehampton office held a walk, and the Waterside offices have been busy cleaning beaches.  Fundraising for cancer charities in 2024, a walk and row was held by the Totnes office.
Stags charity fundraising initiatives have also included swimming the distance of the English Channel in the Bude Sea Pool, and coastal walks. 2024 fundraising events, rounders tournament and a skydive!
