Machinery prices boom at Woolacombe

Stags were delighted to conduct an online timed auction on behalf of Mr Ray Piper and Family at Woolacombe Farm, Yelverton. Mr Piper has been slowly dispersing over 700 items since October of 2021 through Stags Online timed auctions, with the final sale closing on 12th April 2022. The sale featured over 110 lots, ranging from telehandlers and tractors to tables and toolboxes. The auction led to over 850 bidders registering, in excess of 40,000 views and a total of 51 buyers who were successful in purchasing, competing with over 1,900 bids that were placed.

The top price was for a 2004 John Deere 3215 Telehandler, which was in remarkable condition for its age and received 101 bids before finally selling at a staggering £30,000 to a private buyer in Exeter. A 2003 John Deere 6310 SE 4WD Tractor, again in excellent condition, found its new home with a local farmer Yelverton for £25,500. Next was a 2015 Volkswagen Amarok Pick up, which headed to North Tawton shortly after selling for £17,750. The last of the larger value lots was a Hanix (Kubota) H75B 7.5T Excavator which sold for £17,250 to a gentleman from Newton Abbot. Also selling to the same home was a 2010 Tierre Tigrone Revers Flair topper, at £3,300. Other four-figure lots included a Circular Table Saw and Log Splitter for £1900, a Peak 10’ Single Axle Tipping trailer for £1,800 and a Protech P220 and Post Rammer for £1,200.

Buyers from as far as Cork (Ireland), Chippenham and Ilchester were successful, as well as local and neighbouring support from buyers in Bere Alston, Tavistock and Callington, who undoubtedly appreciate Ray’s well-presented and well-maintained machinery. Some of the notable smaller value lots included: an Albutt 5’7” 4 in 1 bucket which sold for £700, a Compton & Warden 8’ Ballast field roller selling again for £700, a set of Pallet forks on Euro 8 brackets for £460, a Husqvarna 550CP Chainsaw for £380, plus an Over the top bale squeeze for £550. Some of the more unusual lots such as a Caple gas and electric range cooker sold for £300, and the pine kitchen table and chairs for £130. Various gates sold up to £100, with workshop items such as benches to £55, shelving to £65 and spray guns to £60.

Stags would like to thank Mr Piper for his support and business, and wish him and the family all the best with their move to The Isles of Scilly.
