Large crowds drawn to Yarmleigh on site sale

Stags On Site Sales Spring Machinery sales got off to a great start with a genuine dispersal at Yarmleigh Farm, Sandford, Crediton. The farm has been farmed by brothers John and Tim White for many years, who are now both moving to their own smallholdings not too far away. Yarmleigh Farm has been sold by Stags Farm Agency department to become a dairy farm by Private Treaty against a Guide Price of £2 million. Nearly 600 lots were on offer to another large crowd of keen buyers, with the weather for once relenting and allowing a dry day.

Top price of the day was the 1996 John Deere 6600 Tractor with 9,600 hours it was bought by a farmer from Ilminster for £11,600. There were a number of unusual items in the sale which included a Thatcher’s Reed Packer that made £950, an old Reed Binder which made £750 and a Rekord Compact Mini Round Baler that realised £1,020. A good number of ‘Outside Entries’ from neighbouring farmers sold to £4,200 for a Rolland Vertical 2.12 Rear Discharge FYM Spreader.
