Improved Entry and Attendance at Uplowman Court for Autumn Collective Sale

Our autumn collective sale at Uplowman Court (by kind permission of the Blake family) received brilliant support from both vendors and purchasers with over 1200 lots on offer and 250 purchasers registering on the day of the sale. The sale included a small farm dispersal from Mr and Mrs Waller of Five Fords Farm, Uffculme and also a garage dispersal sale of Automobilia which was transported from Stogumber. With the wide variety of equipment and items on offer to prospective purchasers a good attendance was achieved.

After a wet day of receiving entries on the Monday the team were very fortunate to have a sunny and dry sale day. Auctioneer Chris Clapham kicked things of starting with a selection of new tools and working his way through the furniture and eventually to the motor Automobilia, which received an excellent trade where demand was high and bidders fought over the rare and unique items on offer. Following this the first lot of Machinery on the day to go under the hammer was the mobile diesel log splitter which sold for £1,000 following this the Cattle handling race and crush achieved an impressive price of £5,500.

At 1 pm a second Auctioneer, Stafford Sampson began by firstly selling the tidy 4WD Massey Ferguson 6280 which he put the hammer down on for a strong price of £16,200, following this came the 3 tractors from the dispersal of Mr and Mrs Waller’s small farm in Uffculme. The well-used 2WD Ford 4600 sold for £1,200 followed by the 2WD Ford 5610 which came equipped with a loader achieving £2,400 on the day. The tractor which had received the most interest was the worse for wear 2WD Massey Ferguson 360 which achieved a very strong price of £4,600 and will travel to a farm in Chard.

Other notable prices on the day of the sale included a Richardson Horsebox which will stay in Uplowman achieving £1,200 and a PA93 McConnell hedge trimmer sold for £2,800. Also the Fraser bale trailer selling for £2,200 and amongst the many Lawn Mowers presented for sale the highest price achieved was £450.
