High flying prices at online machinery auction

High flying prices at online machinery auction

Stags Auctioneers have had a busy few weeks conducting numerous auctions across the West Country which is only set to continue. The team is delighted to report on a few recent highly successful Online Timed Auctions of tractors, vehicles and machinery.

The Dispersal sale held at Great Warham farm, a renowned shooting estate in the Torrington area included 2 John Deere tractors and a CAT 5T digger along with general farm machinery and shoot equipment.

With every lot sold, 100% clearance was achieved with the stars of the show being the tractors and digger which achieved monstrous prices due to their tidy condition and low hours. The 2010 John Deere 6830 (standard) 4wd tractor, c/w John Deere 663 loader, with 2,340 hours on the clock – reached £53,760, at least £10-15,000 over the vendors expectation; 2006 John Deere 6320 4wd tractor, c/w John Deere 631 loader – topping out at £32,000;

2003 Caterpillar 305CR Digger – reaching £18,200 despite showing a few imperfections

Quickly following the dispersal sale was the March South West collective sale of tractors, excavators, machinery, implements and general equipment, which received a colossal entry of over 1100 items from across the South West.

Over 45,000 people viewed the auction, with the final hours being observed by over 14,500 people leading to over 888 lots sold and over £1,000,000 worth of bids placed, all culminating to produce an impressive 85% clearance rate.

This sale really showed that Stags have the power reach bidders not only nationally but also across seas with purchasers coming from Cyprus, Ireland, Gloucestershire, Wales, Surrey, Berkshire and our familiar counties in the southern part of the country.

Strong demand for genuine second-hand machinery continues, the top 10 prices were:

The hattrick of sales was completed with another dispersal sale conducted at Lower Woodburn Farm in East Anstey in mid-march. With the vendor being absent due to other business, the Stags team were instructed to conduct the dispersal from start to finish, including the cleaning of machines, organising and displaying items and moving machinery around the farm to present and sell. Two COVID safe viewing days were conducted with two collection days also held with the sale completed and farm emptied entirely within a 4-week period.

All the effort put in produced another very successful sale with prices once more, way exceeding vendor expectations. 100% clearance was achieved with the top five prices as follows:
