Getting your Garden Photograph-Ready

Getting your Garden Photograph-Ready

If you are lucky enough to benefit from some outside space, getting it ready for photos before you sell your home can be just as important as getting the inside of your house ready. It also means it will be in tip-top condition for when you start to have viewings, and with people valuing outside space more than ever this can have a huge impact on their success.

Mow the lawn

Something simple such as mowing the lawn, trimming hedges and removing any tired plants can have a huge impact on the tidiness and size of your garden.

Colour

Add some splashes of colour into your garden with plants and flowers. If you don’t have the time or space for full flowerbeds, consider getting some coordinating planters, plant pots or even hanging baskets to add some life into your outside space.

Kerb Appeal

Remember the front of your property will likely be the main image used to market your home, and this is what most people will judge your home on! Ensure that cars, bins and recycling boxes are out of sight, pathways are swept, house plaques are cleaned and the lawn is neat and tidy!

Repainting

A fresh lick of paint on any fencing or sheds, and staining any decking can refresh any tired aspects of your garden, at a fraction of a cost of replacing anything!

Pressure-washing

Similar to above, pressure-washing patios, paving, and steps. It can be an easy way to freshen up your outside space without the need or expense of replacing any paving slabs.

Garden Toys

Where possible, tidy away or dismantle garden toys that are tired, such as rusty trampolines. These can ruin the look of a garden and cramp an otherwise generous space.

Garden furniture

If you have space for garden furniture and the weather is being kind, set it up and ‘accessorise’ with some colourful cushions and a bottle of wine, and light a chimnea or firepit to give your garden a homely look.
