Another Successful Garden Nursery Sale for Stags Agricultural Sales Department.

Stags were pleased to be instructed on the second Garden Nursery Sale of the year, this time on behalf of Carrapitt Plants, based in Bridford by Online Timed Auction. Having only recently conducted similar for Endsleigh Garden Nursery, the team were ready to take on the challenge of numbering over 1600 lots over the course of 3 days. The weather was forgiving which ensured the high quality photographs produced which in turn, enabled the 384 registered bidders to bid with confidence and ease.

A viewing day was held on Friday 6th September which attracted many potential bidders and the site was a bustle of interested parties noting their favoured lots. The sale saw a total of 27,034 visits to the catalogue with 116 successful purchasers resulting in a total of £71,540 bids placed (not all were successful). Buyers were seen from Swansea, Swindon, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset. This particular auction was split in to 2 catalogues in order to help potential purchasers digest the vast amount of lots available. Auction 1 consisted of the Garden Nursery Machinery and Equipment with Auction 2 focusing on plants and shrubs only.

Overall, the top call was the Vauxhall Movano CDTI 125 Box Van reaching £6,750, purchased by a North Devon Business based in Barnstaple. This was closely followed by a Mayer 2070 Potting machine at £5,250 which saw a healthy amount of interest during the course of the auction. A total of 7 Polytunnels were offered within Auction 1, all receiving strong attention and reaching a sale price between £3,000 & £800. Two compost mixers were offered, both being Gregoire M4 Mobile Drum Compost Mixers the first saw £2,500  with the second at £2,300. Top plant prices were seen to 72 Polypodium Vulgare Ferns achieving £76 followed by 2 lots of 30 Scleranthus ‘Uniflorus’ at £74 each. Both 10 Sisrinchiem ‘Dragons Eye’ and the 36 Dryopteris F/M Linpolydactylla Ferns reached £70 per item.

The collection day took place on the 13th September where Stags, the owners of Carrapitt Plants and members of their own team, helped successful purchasers to load up their vehicles as quickly and efficiently as possible. Due to the logistical challenges of this site, the office team had organised an appointment basis for the collection day which helped to streamline collections even further.

Overall a successful sale was had from start to finish, we would like to thank Mr & Mrs Hearnden of Carrapitt Plants for entrusting us in the sale of the items within their business. We wish them all the best for the future.
