Stags were pleased to be instructed to disperse the contents of a small Bistro restaurant, nestled in the centre of Newton Abbot. After an initial site visit it was decided that due to the logistical location, a sale by online timed auction would be the most suitable method of sale.
The items ranged from tables and chairs, industrial ovens, bain-marie servers and specialist bar equipment. The teams efforts in lotting, resulted in a fully illustrated catalogue of just over 200 lots being advertised widely across the South West and beyond. Motivated to clear the retail unit, for the purpose of re letting, the priority was to dispose of the assets in the quickest and most efficient way possible, whilst also maximising the value of the items sold.
As a result of the methodical approach adopted by the team within this sale, an impressive total was realised in a short timeframe, with only 4 weeks between the initial site visit and the close of the sale. This exceeded the vendors expectations by far and resulted in some robust prices. 30 tables and chairs were sold with totals ranging from £140 - £160 per set for the smaller square ones and £240 - £280 per set for the larger rectangular ones, with the vendor only having been offered £65 per unit prior to the auction.
A few members of the team were present at the collection day which was held on the 17th July and even though the logistics of moving the larger items were quite challenging, purchasers were patient and understanding when trying to work around this.
