Chapelhaies Farm: Wednesday 23 September

'Mid Devon Dispersal Sale exceeds all expectations’

Stags auctioneers report a flying trade for all the machinery and equipment at the dispersal held on behalf of Messrs AL Baker & Son at Chapelhaies Farm, Bradninch near Exeter last Wednesday 23rd. Having sold the dairy herd earlier in the year and the duchy farm having been re-let it was now time to disperse the machinery at what must be a very poignant time for the Baker Family. All salegoers observed the Covid-19 rules and regulations really well allowing the sale to keep moving forward without delays. Topping the day at £35,000 was the 2015 JCB 536-60 Telehandler with just over 5,000 hours on the clock. There was an excellent line up of four John Deere tractors all with high hours around 10,000 which topped at £19,500 for the 2005 6820 model; which was closely followed at £19,000 for the 1999 6310 Premium with loader. It would be fair to say that the farm machinery sold exceptionally well. Top was £8,000 for the 2014 Hi Spec 2300 gallon Vacuum Tanker. Next best was £5,900 for the 2008 Twose 526 Hedgetrimmer, other notable machinery prices included £5,800 for the 2017 Lely Lotus Stabilo 6 Star Tedder; £5,400 for the 2014 Protech P2305 Post Rammer; £4,700 for the Accord Piggy Back Drill; £4,400 for the 2006 Lucas Castor 30R Straw Chopper; £4,100 for the 2008 Kuhn 3M HR3003 Power Harrow; £4,000 for the CTM 522 Fodder Beet Cleaner; £3,700 for the 2015 Teagle 2.8m Flail Mower; £3,200 for the 6.3m Twose Rollers; £3,000 three times; the first to the 2015 Dablo 3m Front Press; the second to the 2008 Strautmann Verti-mix 1050 Feeder Wagon and the third to the 2015 Teagle SX3000 Centreliner Fertilizer Spreader and £2,900 for the 2016 Einbock 6m Folding Grass Harrows. There was a top line up of trailers which sold to £6,500 for the 2005 11 Tonne QM11 Grain & Silage Trailer. Other lots sold on behalf of the Baker Family included £1,800 for the 20’ shipping container; £1,500 for the Cherry Products 7’6” Muck Grab; £720 twice for a pair of John Shepherd Cattle Feed Trailer; £700 for a Bateman Calf Weigher and 11 Calf-Tel Calf Hutches topped at £470 for five. There was a decent run of entries from local farms and prices included £5,200 for a Richard Western Silage Trailer; £3,400 for the 1995 Quivogne Disc Harrows and £2,700 for a 2009 Honda TRX400 Quad Bike.
