As spring feels closer by the day, so does the annual deadline for the submission of Basic Payment Scheme application forms and trading of entitlements. This year the deadline for submissions will be Monday 16 May.
The RPA continues to assure us that the on-line systems will be in place for the completion of this year’s forms transfers and mapping but as yet, nothing is available to view on-line. The message this year is the same as every year, get started early! We recommend requesting an up to date set of RLR maps for your holding, checking all of the field boundaries are as you left them, looking for any new ineligible features that have sprung up or adding these to your plans where you have been amending boundaries over the winter. Whilst we still await entitlement statements and claim statements, we hope to receive these in March at which point we can then check whether you have the correct number of entitlements for your holding area or, if you have an excess to sell or if you have purchased bare land and need new entitlements to purchase.
