Applications open for Farming and Technology Fund 2025

As of today, 29th May 2025, The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has opened applications for the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) 2025. This year’s scheme allocates a total of £46.7 million in grant funding to support farmers, growers, foresters, and contractors in England, aiming to enhance productivity, improve slurry management, and optimise animal health and welfare.

Eligible applicants can receive grants ranging in value from £1,000 to £25,000 per theme, with funding available for:

  • Productivity: Including direct drills, tree shears, electric weeders, and rainwater harvesting tanks.
  • Slurry Management: Including robotic slurry collectors, dribble bars, and umbilical hose reelers.
  • Animal Health and Welfare: Over 100 items including mobile handling systems, sheep race, snacker feeder, and cooling equipment.

Applications must be submitted online via the Rural Payments Service by midday on the 10th July 2025. Funding is available only for new equipment purchased after a Grant Funding Agreement has been issued and successful applicants will be required to complete their projects within six months of receiving an agreement.
