A Strong Start to the Year for Stags’ Auctions Department

A Strong Start to the Year for Stags’ Auctions Department

Stepping into 2025, Stags Auctions Department has seen an exceptionally successful start to sales across the South West. With a packed calendar of auctions, increased bidder participation, and a range of high-quality lots passing under the hammer, this year is shaping up to be one of our strongest yet.

January and February set the tone with a series of machinery and equipment auctions including the South West January Online Timed Auction, our fast-growing Livestock and Fodder Online Timed Auctions,  The West Country Farming and Machinery Show Sale and standalone dispersals and reduction auctions. Stags Auctions has facilitated sales within the South West and beyond, an example being our recently completed Cotswold Organic Online Timed Auction of Machinery and Livestock Equipment situated between Cirencester and Oxford. The enthusiasm seen in these sales highlights the ever-growing interest in Stags' offerings and the trust placed in the team’s expertise.

Machinery and Equipment Online Auctions

One of the standout moments of the year so far has been the record-breaking sales figures achieved in our recent South West January Online Timed Auction. The auction saw in excess of £1,800,000 bids placed on auction day (although not all successful) with aftersales further increasing this figure as our team continued to negotiate the best deals possible for both buyers and vendors after the sales completion. Over 250 vendors saw benefit from the 589 successful buyers both nationally and internationally all helping to create our most successful online timed auction to date.

As farmers face increasing financial pressures, due to the current government introducing changes to inheritance tax for farms, the additional levy has raised concerns within the farming community. These changes have prompted many farmers and land owners to reassess their assets and equipment. In response, our auctions provide a crucial platform for farmers and landowners looking to manage their assets effectively, offering competitive prices and liquidity in a more challenging economic climate.
