A rare opportunity was available recently with Stags inviting tenders to rent Pithayes Farm near Whimple as a whole or up to five lots for various parcels of land and/or buildings with the owners offering a 3-year Farm Business Tenancy with BPS Entitlements transferred to successful applicant(s).
A productive run of primarily Grade 2 and 3 pasture and arable land totalling approximately 250 acres, with the option of an extensive range of farm buildings including cubicles, silage clamps, machinery and hay/straw stores.
With the deadline for tender now passed, we are delighted to say that Stags received tenders from 22 separate parties with a number of the tenderers making multiple offers.
The tenders were considered high with strong demand shown from local and not so local farmers, and diversified farming businesses. The exercise revealed that there are a good number of farmers seeking to expand their businesses and a longer tenancy term (day 10 years), with an opportunity for dairy farming, would have led to even greater demand.
This tender followed the successful letting of 105 acres of pasture at Upexe near Thorverton.
