Detached barn with full residential consent and 1.4 acres in village centre. Detached traditional barn, planning consent for conversion, 1 bed single storey dwelling,
gardens & paddock, central village location, delightful Dartmoor views, 1.4 acres.
The village of Bridestowe is a charming rural community on the northern fringes of the Dartmoor National Park. The village has a range of facilities including a post office/store, thriving inn and primary school, together with a modern village hall. The village is situated within easy reach of the Dartmoor National Park with its hundreds of square miles of superb unspoilt scenery and many opportunities for riding, walking and outdoor pursuits. The Granite Way runs close to the village, providing access to miles of off road cycling and walking. The A30 dual carriageway is close by offering a direct link west into Cornwall and east to the cathedral city of Exeter with its M5 motorway, main line rail and international air connections. The nearby town of Okehampton offers and excellent range of shops and services, three supermarkets including a Waitrose, together with schooling from infant to sixth form levels. There is also a modern hospital and leisure centre in the attractive setting of Simmons Park.DESCRIPTION
The property comprises a traditional barn, of cob and stone construction beneath a galvanised iron roof, with evidence of original thatching beneath the iron. The barn measures 34' x 18' externally and is approached via a private lane, just off the centre of the village. Immediately adjoining the barn are areas of garden and ample provision for parking as shown on the drawings. Adjoining is an area of level pasture paddock, bordered along one boundary by the River Lew and immediately beyond which is the parish church. The paddock fronts onto the village lane, with a farm gate giving access. From the land there are some delightful views to the nearby hills and tors of Dartmoor. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a compact traditional barn for conversion, in the heart of an attractive setting on the edge of Dartmoor. The pasture would be ideal for a horse or pony, or indeed for general stock grazing.PLANNING
The barn has the benefit of planning consent for change of use and conversion to a single residential dwelling. Planning Number 1105/17/FUL. Http://apps.westdevon.gov.uk/PlanningSearchMVC/Home/LARefSearchSERVICES
