Stags Farm Agency is pleased to report that the sale of Langabeare Barton has recently completed

Stags Farm Agency is pleased to report that the sale of Langabeare Barton has recently completed after being offered for sale by the Stags Farm Agency department and Okehampton office with a guide price of £3,100,000.

Langabeare Barton is a very private and extensive grassland farm with a fine Devon longhouse occupying a fantastic south-facing position. It is currently run as a beef and sheep enterprise.

The property was brought to the market for sale as a whole (289 acres) or in three lots.

The characterful house, constructed of cob and brick with a welsh slate roof, sits centrally within the farmstead. It is surrounded by attractive lawn gardens, from which there are outstanding views south towards Dartmoor National Park. The farm land extends to approximately 289 acres and comprises a mixture of arable and pasture land, all divided into a number of good-sized fields and served by a central farm track.

The farm generated interest from mainly farmer buyers looking to relocate or expand their current holdings. After a couple of months of marketing, a sale was agreed in excess of the guide. George Alder, who handled the sale, comments “Langabeare Barton attracted strong interest and it’s situation in a good farming area, renowned for grass production, gave it lots of potential to create a new dairy, or to continue with the mixed livestock system.”
