Stags is delighted to report that the sale of Huish Barton near Washford, Somerset has recently completed after being offered for sale by the firm’s Farm Agency department.
The farm lies in a fine location approximately four miles inland from the Somerset coast and within the fringes of the Exmoor National Park, with very good road links nearby.
Huish Barton totals approximately 316.90 acres, with the land classified as either grade 2 or grade 3 and with pockets of woodland throughout the farm, which forms part of a local shoot.
The stunning Grade II Listed house provides 8,250 square feet of accommodation and dates from the 16th and 17th century, with the older part including a 40-foot grand hall, with a fireplace at either end, and which overlooks the enclosed walled garden to the west.
The tree-lined entrance drive has grass areas and ponds to the side and the colourful and well-tended gardens include a level lawn to the front of the house, an outdoor swimming pool with a patio and outdoor bar area, soft fruit cages and the original walled garden.
There is an impressive collection of stone, brick and slate barns with their own separate access from the road, including some which are three storeys tall and have original brick arches on the ground floor.
Further along the lane and beyond the traditional barns are the more modern farm buildings, which are presently used for grain and machinery storage and livestock housing, positioned around a concrete yard.
