Baltic Wharf Totnes townhouses on the market

Stags has released a number of Totnes townhouses to the market, built by Bloor Homes and located at the prestigious Baltic Wharf development.

The new townhouses at the prestigious Baltic Wharf development, are set on the picturesque River Dart, now released onto the market and available to view. The luxury properties are a short, level walk from the thriving centre of historic Totnes, which has been named by The Times as one of the 30 ‘coolest places in Britain’ to live.

“We are very excited to be marketing these stunning homes here at Baltic Wharf,” says James Baker of Stags in Totnes. “They offer the opportunity to live in a top-quality new property right in the heart of this historic, charming town where there is so much to do and enjoy.”

The homes at Baltic Wharf are 600 yards from the iconic stone bridge over the River Dart, giving them easy access to the heart of Totnes, with a wealth of shops, cafes and restaurants nearby to explore.

“Each property is subtly different but all share a top-quality finish,” says James Baker, who is marketing the properties with Stags on behalf of the family-run developers Bloor Homes. “They are low-maintenance and easy to run, with the latest eco-features. Their location is simply superb. It’s very rare to find new properties of this calibre right in Totnes town centre by the river.”

The properties were designed specifically for the location, which was formerly a disused former timber yard on the banks of the river. Each is built to the highest specifications, meaning they are a pleasure to live in and very easy and cost-effective to maintain. Bloor Homes have 50 years of home-building experience and, in total, the Baltic Wharf development consists of 96 properties.

Architects Stride Treglown designed the properties and, their view was that the development should be of its time and avoid pastiche but also be in keeping with Totnes and Baltic Wharf's own industrial heritage. To this end, they created a curving street, gave the properties timber cladding and oriole windows and made sure the homes have outlooks both to the nearby river and green fields.

Each comes with a ten-year warranty and two years after-care service, with Home Exchange and Assisted Purchase schemes available. The first phase of the development was released in the Spring of 2016 and is already a thriving community. This second phase of the development is being released just now and the final phase is “just at the plastering and decorating stage”, says James Baker.

As well as being luxurious and comfortable, the homes are built to high eco-specifications, following the Level 4 Environmental Code, saving money on running costs. Eco-features include award-winning Danish ‘Velfac’ windows which are guaranteed for 12 years and have a slim, elegant design incorporating both wood and aluminium.

The roofs of the properties have been constructed with hooks already in place should the new owners want to install photo-voltaic (PV) panels and have been angled in southerly directions to maximise sunlight for PV panels.

Parking on the site is carefully managed, with properties having their own integral garages and visitor parking controlled so that the communal areas are attractive and welcoming at all times.

Rowena Adams – Bloor Homes South West Regional Director “Our collection of homes at Baltic Wharf offers a range of properties that are ideal for a growing family.  Offering the best of coastal living, the development is a short walk from the bustling town centre. Bloor Homes creates vibrant communities where it builds, so the quality of life on offer at its developments is excellent.

“We are delighted to work with Stags as they’re such a well-recognised agent in Devon. They really appreciate the high-specification and luxury that Bloor is known for.  We have no doubt that the local knowledge of the team, combined with the continued appeal of our properties at Baltic Wharf will see them sell quickly.”

Totnes is widely acknowledged to be one of the gems of south Devon, with a characterful town centre and a wonderful location. The wilds of Dartmoor are within easy reach, yet it is set within gentle, leafy countryside. The beaches of the south Devon coast are close by and the town’s train station is on a mainline railway with direct links to Exeter, Plymouth and London. The A38 runs nearby, making this a very well-connected place to live and work.

“We certainly expect a lot of interest in these properties,” says James Baker. “They are perfect for professionals, families and also for people wishing to downsize from a large country property into something more manageable in a market town setting.”

The prices of these Baltic Wharf properties range from £460,950-£599,950, all of which can be viewed here. For more details, please contact Stags Totnes.
