Thurlestone is the epitome of a South Devon village with its many picturesque stone and thatched cottages and colourful gardens resulting from its own "micro-climate". The village is renowned for its 4-star hotel and it also has an Inn, post office/general stores, church and highly-regarded primary school. There is a large, sandy beach whilst other, more secluded coves are reached by walking one of the many footpaths across its prestigious 18 hole golf course and the property's location provides an easy walk into the village centre.
The villages of Hope Cove and Bantham are within comfortable walking distance along the beautiful cliff top pathways whilst the market town of Kingsbridge is only just over 4 miles distant. Salcombe, Devon's southernmost town, is some 6 miles distant. With its beautiful harbour and unspoiled estuary, the town is a Mecca for yachting and water sports and it also offers excellent shops, restaurants and inns as well as lovely, sandy beaches and spectacular cliff -top walking.
In more recent years, a substantial extension has been added and it now affords spacious, family-sized accommodation which is light and airy throughout.
Probably its principal asset, though, is its position, and the view that is afforded from it; Rowan House is possibly the highest house in the village and it enjoys stunning views from the front over the surrounding countryside and the golf course to the sea and Bolt Tail whilst from the rear, the view is over Bantham and the mouth of the River Avon.
