Sovereign House is a beautiful Grade II listed building that we understand was originally constructed in 1811 to the designs of Jacob Harvey during the earliest part of Sir Lawrence Palk's development of Torquay, and has been described as an elegant terrace that is historically important in the development of Torquay. Recently converted into 12 luxury apartments behind the Regency facade, these fabulous apartments retain much of the style and glamour from the era, with a modern twist. This particular apartment has its own street level access, with generous accommodation over two floors, and offers three double bedrooms, two with en suite facilities, large open plan sitting and dining room with balcony, comprehensively equipped kitchen/breakfast room, and a family bathroom, totalling almost 1,800 sq ft, plus a useful separate storage room.ACCOMMODATION
From street level your own private front door accesses the apartment and leads via an entrance vestibule to the hallway, where a wide returning staircase rises to the first floor and the high ceilings are complemented with ornate cornicing, deep skirting boards and wide door mouldings. The accommodation is reverse level with the large and impressive master bedroom off the hall, again with many period features, large sash windows, and a well-appointed en suite shower room. Bedroom two also has an en suite shower room, and bedroom three is to the rear with access to a cloakroom/WC below the stairs. The luxurious and spacious family bathroom is located off the half landing.
Off the first floor landing is the impressive sitting/dining room with three full height sash windows that all open to the full width balcony allowing spectacular views over the marina, harbour and bay beyond. The high ceilings give a great feeling of space and there are many period features including a feature fireplace and surround with living flame gas fire. There is plenty of space for a full size dining table as well as lounge furniture. Glazed double doors give access to the kitchen/breakfast room featuring a range of oak fronted units above and below black granite work surfaces. Neff appliances include a double oven, gas hob, concealed extractor, integrated fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. A window looks to the rear and there is plenty of space for a breakfast table.SERVICES
