Examples of success stories from our staff

Kevin Clarke

Kevin started with Stags in August 2006 as a summer placement and as an assistant to Simon Cooper, Partner in charge of the Exeter office. He commenced his Master's degree that September, part-time, whilst working alongside the residential team, combining day to day experience with technical knowledge.

After 18 months working with the residential team and nearing the completion of his Master's, to gain further experience he joined the Professional Services department as a Graduate Surveyor working from Exeter, Wellington and Tiverton offices, assisting various qualified surveyors gaining the specialist and in depth knowledge required. This enabled Kevin to gain a breadth of experience required for the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).

He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor and Fellow of the CAAV in 2010 and was appointed to manage the Stags Dulverton Office.

In late 2011 an opportunity arose to manage the larger and prestigious office in Honiton, returning to the area he knew well. In 2015 he was appointed head of the Equestrian Department.

You can see from the case study that Kevin experienced multi-disciplinary training over a 10 year period with Stags. This has taken him from a summer placement to a successful head of department with sales of £101m last year.

Claire Pile

Claire has worked her way up through the firm and is now the Lettings Development and Training Manager for Stags for all offices. She joined the company in 2007 working as an administrator in the Honiton Lettings department. She gained promotion at Honiton to senior valuer and then an opportunity arose to become the Lettings Manager in the Stags Tiverton office.

During her time at Stags Claire has become a qualified member of the Association of Residential Letting Agents and in 2015 was appointed as an Associate Partner. Her experience along with enthusiasm drives her to ensure that all landlords and tenants experience a quality, trouble-free letting service.

She managed the Tiverton lettings department for 5 years and is now using her wealth of knowledge to undertake the role of Lettings Development & Training Manager assisting and promoting the growth of the firm’s department as a whole, whilst still retaining some involvement within the Tiverton office.

Mark Neason

With a background in both academia and professional practice, Mark Neason is eminently qualified to lead Stags’ Professional Services department in the firm’s Eastern region. After acquiring an HND in Agriculture, Mark worked as a stockman/tractor driver at Bicton College Farm, before becoming an agricultural lecturer. He then attended Harper Adams Agricultural College as a mature student, gaining his MRICS accreditation in 2002 and forging a career as a highly respected multi-disciplined Chartered Surveyor with an exceptionally broad range of knowledge.

The son of a Devon County Land Agent, Mark was brought up in East Devon, but moved away to pursue his academic career. Ten years ago he returned to the South West and in 2008 joined Stags, before being made an Associate Partner in 2009. His focused, practical approach to providing clients with expert advice has helped make Stags Professional Services the most sought after department of its kind in the South West.

Tracey Hill

Tracey Hill is Stags' Partnership Accountant & Business Administrator and has been with the firm for over 21 years and during this period has been internally promoted, and is also an Associate Partner.
