Stags Auctioneers report a very strong trade for machinery at the dispersal sale at Pithayes Farm, Whimple on Saturday 31st July. The sale was held on behalf of Messrs R G Seward and Sons who took the decision earlier this year to let out the farm, which was successfully tendered by Stags Professional team. The weather in the lead up to the sale had been unsettled and ensured that a very large crowd of potential purchasers attended the sale day with in excess of 350 new and old clients registering in the sales office.
Topping the days prices at £42,500 was the 2012 New Holland T7040 4WD Tractor with 3300 hours on the clock. The tractor being bought to stay local who fought off 4 different phone bidders from Ireland and Cumbria.
There was a wonderful line up of 8 New Holland and Ford Tractors with next best being the 2000 New Holland TM150 at £19,000, with 12,000 hours on the clock. Followed at £18,400 for the 1996 New Holland/Ford 7740 with 8500 hours on the clock. With other prices being £13,900 for the 1993 Ford 7840 (9300 hours); £7,000 for the Ford 7710 (13,700 hours); £6,700 for the Ford 5610; £5,000 for the Ford 4100 and £3,600 for the Ford 3600.
There was a decent line up of trailers which topped at £19,800 for the 2015 Broughan B20 20 Tonne Silage Trailer. The three 1997 Griffiths Silage trailers sold extremely well making £5,200, £5,000 and £4,800; and the 2003 AW 14 Tonne Grain trailer made £6,300.
In the other vehicles section the 1995 Manitou 626 Telehandler with 10,200 hours sold for £10,800, the 2007 Bobcat 463 Skid Steer sold for £7,800; the 2017 Honda TRX420 Fourtrax Quad Bike with just 15 hours on the clock sold for £5,800 and the 1990 Massey Ferguson 31XP Combine made £4,100.
An excellent line up of machinery topped at £8,800 for the 2009 Dal-Bo 6.3 metre Folding Rollers. Next best at £7,000 was the 2009 Kverneland 9178C Twin Rota Rake and the 2008 Keenan Klassick 170 Feeder Wagon. Other machinery prices included £6,100 for the Einboch 6 metre Tined Harrows c/w Einboch Seeder; £5,800 for the 2005 Dowdeswell 5 Furrow Reversible Plough; £5,000 for the 2005 Kuhn HR3003 Power Harrow; £4,800 for the Murska 700S Grain Crimper and £4,500 for the Major 2400 LGP Slurry Tanker.
The Zero Grazing kit sold well with the Zero Grazing Forage Harvester making £3,600 and the Zero Grazing Feed Trailer making £3,200. The Twose 8’ Lead Roller and Twose 8’ Roller combination totalled £2,350. Attachments topped at £1,000 for the Albutt 7’6” Push off Buckrake.
There was a cracking line up of outside entries with prices topping at £3,100 for the 22’ Twin Axle Flatbed Trailer. There is clearly a very strong demand for well maintained farm machinery and if you are thinking of selling please contact the office on 01769 572042.
