An experienced Rural Surveyor, a Fellow of the RICS and the CAA Michael joined Stags in 1983, was a Partner for 26 years and is a former Chairman and Senior Partner. His current role is a Consultant to Stags, based at Wellington, he specialises in all aspects of rural professional work. He was appointed as an Arbitrator on the Lord Chancellors Panel, subsequently taken over by the RICS, acts as Arbitrator and for parties at Arbitration, as Advocate and Expert. He deals with all aspects of landlord and tenant matters, and Expert Witness work, including matrimonial disputes, valuations for all purposes including taxation and compensation matters. Michael is a Recommended Valuer of the Tenant's Farmers Association.
For 38 years he sold at livestock markets twice weekly and with Stags sold at Taunton Market until it moved in 2008. He also sold in Exeter and South Molton. He is involved in the sale of farms and land and conducts property auctions and charity auctions. Michael is Somerset born and bred, obtained a BSc at the College of Estate Management. Chairman of the Western Counties Agricultural Valuers Association and held the position of Treasurer for 21 years serving on National Committees.
Outside of Stags Michael is Vice Chairman of the Governors of Queens College, Taunton and a member of the Taunton Court Leet. He is a keen follower of all sports particularly cricket, being an MCC member and life member of Somerset. He enjoys watching rugby, racing, playing tennis, shooting, music and travelling
