Stags are pleased to announce the grant of planning permission and Listed Building Consent for the change of use of a two storey Listed barn to a functions venue.
Clients, Jacquie Harris and Yaron Peled, moved to Trenderway Farm, Pelynt, Looe just over four years ago and took over an existing Bed and Breakfast business within it. They were keen to improve and expand the holiday accommodation business and it was one of their guests who sowed the initial idea of using a redundant two storey barn as a function venue for weddings, birthday parties etc.
Signposted to Stags via the CLA, Jacquie and Yaron contacted Gareth Rowe who heads up Stags Property Consultancy department in Cornwall. Gareth reports “as soon as I met Jacquie and Yaron and visited the site, I knew there was both enormous potential but also possible conflicts with their proposal.”
The barn itself is a superb two storey traditional granary. By working closely with the Local Planning Authority, other experts and the local community, changes to the proposal were made and safeguards put in place to ensure that neighbouring residential properties were not adversely affected.
“Overall” commented Gareth Rowe, “this is an excellent farm diversification project which sees a traditional rural building retained and re-used for a modern use. It will also help a local rural business expand and this will lead to job creation and increased local employment.”
