A guide to Honiton and the surrounding area

Honiton is renowned for its antiques and lace making heritage, and provides a range of amenities for the surrounding rural villages, including, churches, leisure centre, independent shops, several banks, along with primary and secondary schooling.

It is an excellent meeting place and is fortunate to have a number of thriving independent cafes and restaurants including The Railway Inn and The Holt. Just outside of Honiton is the award winning Bartlets Farm Shop, selling locally produced food. Secluded courtyards and Georgian buildings line the High Street, where twice weekly local markets, selling a wide range of produce are held.

The town is within easy reach of the Jurassic Coast, which has been designated a World Heritage Site, and the pretty towns of Sidmouth and Lyme Regis, as well as small fishing villages such as Beer and Branscombe. It is also conveniently located for easy access to London, Bristol and Exeter via the main Exeter to London (Waterloo) railway, the M5 motorway at Exeter and the A30/A303 heading east. Exeter international airport is easily accessed from the A30 just 13 miles from the town.
