Professional Services

Planning Consultant - Exeter

Due to expansion and continued high demand, Stags are currently seeking a Planning Consultant to join our successful Planning, Development and Architectural department based from our Exeter Office.

he role would suit either qualified, or trainee, Planners or Surveyors within an interest in all type of property and would include taking responsibility for your own caseload of a variety of planning work. This work would be encompassing our diverse core areas of residential, commercial and agricultural planning. There would also be the opportunity to work to secure new instructions and contribute to the growth of the department. The successful candidate will have the following:

  • A relevant degree (or equivalent)
  • Planning experience (from either the private or public sector)
  • RTPI/RICS qualified (or working towards this)
  • A sound knowledge of residential, commercial and agricultural planning
  • The confidence to manage your own caseload (with the support of the wider team)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge/experience of planning within the South West (preferable but not essential)

Rural Graduate Surveyor - Totnes

An opportunity has arisen for a rural practice graduate surveyor to join Stags in Totnes. However, given the strength of the team and variety of work available, we may also consider applications from a recently qualified surveyor or someone looking for either a placement, an apprenticeship or to work part time alongside a RICS accredited masters course.

The position will be within our Professional Services department and will include hands on client facing work from the start. There will be a broad spectrum of work which could include:

  • Formal “Red Book” Valuations
  • Estate Management
  • Property Sales and Lettings
  • Planning
  • Landlord and Tenant
  • Compulsory Purchase
  • Grants and Subsidies

We strongly believe that it is important for our trainees to gain a broad range of hands-on experience and therefore also arrange for them to spend time in other departments to provide a breadth of experience which will not only be essential in working towards their professional exams but will also help them to work out what type of work they enjoy.

Training and Support

We appreciate the importance of good training and support for our trainees and so have a structured APC training programme which includes training days and regular meetings with a designated Supervisor, Counsellor and in-house APC Assessor.

We will pay for RICS and CAAV membership and the cost of your first APC assessment and CAAV exam. You will also be offered up to five days study leave.

Rural Surveyor - Tiverton

Stags are looking to recruit a rural practice surveyor to join our Professional Services team in Tiverton.

The role will involve acting for a mix of clients across Devon on a broad spectrum of matters including formal Red Book valuations, estate management, compulsory purchase and compensation, landlord and tenant, rural grant and stewardship applications, and farm lettings.

The role also involves building on existing clients and business contacts and working with other members of the immediate team wider department and firm as a whole.

This position presents a fantastic opportunity for someone to join the department during an exciting period of growth and to build a career with a well-regarded South West property firm.

Requirements

You will ideally be MRICS qualified. Being a RICS Registered Valuer and Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers would also be beneficial but are not essential.

Team Secretary/Property and Office Administrator

Stags have one of the largest property management and professional services teams in the West Country, with a desire to continue to expand and develop this department.

Therefore, to facilitate the growth we are experiencing, along with the departure of an existing team member, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Team Secretary/Property and Office Administrator in Totnes Fore Street Office.

The Role

A fantastic opportunity to join our busy established team of surveyors and valuers, client accountants and support staff working from the Totnes Office.

The purpose of this role is predominantly to provide secretarial and administration support to our team of surveying staff across both the portfolios of let properties we manage and also with the ad-hoc professional report writing we undertake. The role can therefore be moulded to suit either someone with secretarial or property administration skills depending on applications received, or a mixture of both.

The role is full-time; however, a part-time role may be considered for stand out candidates.

The Candidate

The successful applicant will have a flexible ‘can do’ positive attitude, self-motivated and will have previous office experience ideally supporting a busy team as well as being able to use own initiative.

An understanding of the rural environment and property management experience would be advantageous but is not essential.

Residential Sales Administrator – Dulverton

Our Dulverton office is currently looking for a confident and enthusiastic Administrator to join the team on a full-time basis but will consider part time.

The successful candidate will be presentable, well-organised and able to work diligently as part of a motivated residential property team, possessing excellent communication, literacy and IT skills.

This is a busy role which will involve a variety of front-line administrator, property and sales responsibilities, including all facets of client and customer contact, including, but not limited to: booking and carrying out property viewings, negotiation and assisting the rest of the sales team, with the benefit of also offering long term career progression. Residential Lettings Property Manager (Part-time) – West Devon

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Residential Lettings Property Manager to join our West Devon team based in Tavistock.

Part time/flexible hours (20 – 25 hours). The role will primarily involve dealing with general enquiries, undertaking property visits, arranging property maintenance and liaising with landlords, tenants and contractors. You will have the opportunity to deal with a diverse range of property with the ideal candidate being proactive, well-organised, computer-literate and able to work on their own initiative. Some lettings experience would be preferred with full support and training to be provided.
