West Country tourism market update

West Country tourism market update

I doubt any of us can dispute that August was slightly wetter than we had hoped. However, the rain did little to dampen the West Country tourism market, which maintained its strong progress over the summer period.

Visit Britain is reporting an estimated 6% increase in inbound tourism in the last 12-month period. This brings the total UK tourism spend up to £25.7 million, a 14% increase on 2016. What’s more, holiday complex owners are reporting strong letting revenues and healthy future bookings, a key indicator for the coming months.

From May 2017 to the end of August 2017, Stags Holiday Complex department is pleased to report significant increases in both the number of new buyers (41%) and viewings (50%) when compared to the same period last year. This, combined with the historical strength of the market in the latter half of the year, bodes well for the remainder of 2017 and the start of 2018.

We at Stags understand the West Country holiday complex market, which is why our dedicated team is best placed to guide both buyers and sellers. Should you need any advice, please do not hesitate to contact us directly on 01392 680058 or at holidaycomplexes@stags.co.uk .
