Sheep Flock Dispersal draws in large crowd

Sheep Flock Dispersal draws in large crowd

Stags On Site Sales team travelled to Chulmleigh for the dispersal of sheep flock and sheep equipment on behalf of Mr Johnathan Small at South Week Farm. The 500 sheep were all penned and sorted before the crowds began to arrive on another bright sunny day. Plenty of interest had been shown prior to the sale in the Ewes and Lambs so it as no surprise there was little room around the pens at sale time.

The Aberdale Ewes and Lleyn x Lambs have been farmed organically and are all converted organic breeding stock. The Lambs were not born until mid April onwards and the lambs weaned at the end of July. The Ewes topped at £100 for all the 4T being bought by a farmer from Liskeard, Cornwall; and overall the 4T, 6T and Full Mouth Ewes averaged £84. The Ewe Lambs sold to £58 and averaged £55; whilst the Store Lambs sold to £55 and averaged £50.

The sale started with the Sheep Handling and Feeding Equipment where keen bidding was seen for all lots and included a staggering £620 for the IAE Lamb Weigh Crate and Scales.
