On Tuesday 25th August the Stags On Site Sales team visited Court Barton Farm in Venny Tedburn, Crediton after receiving instructions to disperse the full range of Tractors and Farm Machinery on behalf of M R & R S Aldworth. This full dispersal boasted a wide range of equipment and machinery fresh from use on a fully operating dairy farm. On what was a wet week the morning of the sale was much the same with heavy rain making the sale field wet underfoot. Not put off by the relentless rain over 250 prospective purchasers registered for a buyer’s number.
The sale consisted of 3 Tractors, Telehandler, Quad Bike, Farm Machinery, Dairy Equipment, Implements & General Equipment. After a wet morning of preparations in the relentless rain it thankfully eased a little as auctioneer Chris Clapham kicked off the sale.
The highest value lots of the day were the three Tractors and the telehandler with the Case 885 being the first to go under the hammer and was bought for £4,700 by a farmer from Hatherleigh. The John Deere 6400 sold well to achieve a finishing price of £8,800. The final Tractor to be sold was the John Deere 6630 which made £16,500 after attracting a lot of interest prior to the sale day. The John Deere 3215 Tele handler travelled to Kingsbridge costing the purchaser £13,300 for a well-used machine.
Other notable machinery and equipment prices on the day were a 3 leg Subsoiler achieving £500 followed by a McConnell PA34 Hedgetrimmer RMH model which sold for £1,550. The Kuhn Primor Straw Chopper was sold for £2,300 with the feeder wagon made £4,300. Possibly the one item which received the widest range of interest was the De Laval CF1000 Calf Feeder which auctioneer Chris Clapham put the hammer down for at a strong price of £2,800.
Included in the sale was a small dispersal of 77 lots on behalf of Bremridge Farm, Crediton, Devon. Highlights within these lots included a Fraser FV7000 Slurry Tanker (1988) which sold for £650 followed by a well-used JCB 526S Tele Handler which sold well to achieve £7,300. Next up was a Land Rover 90 with 168,361miles on the clock which still sold for £2100. The highest value item of this small dispersal was the John Deere 6800 Tractor which met a strong trade to achieve £8,500 on the day.
